Tour d'observation Tête de la Merelle et Cascades / Viewing tower Tête de la Merelle and Waterfalls

Nous avons ici plusieurs balades, elles partent toutes du parking du Stade de Ramberchamp au bord du lac. Une promenade évidente est le tour du lac : il suffit de suivre le POINT JAUNE le long de la rive du lac (gardez à l'esprit que la promenade de l'autre côté du lac suit la route principale et c'est assez bruyant), c'est une promenade facile d'environ une heure. , mais le sol peut être parfois assez rocailleux

1) Cascade du Saut de la Bourrique. C'est une belle promenade pas trop difficile, mais vers la fin, elle devient un peu raide et il y a des chaînes pour vous aider à marcher dans des passages difficiles/plus étroits. Il est déconseillé de faire cela en hiver !

Il faut emprunter le sentier ANNEAU VERT qui débute juste à droite du stade en suivant le petit ruisseau. Cette première partie est ravissante, très plate et adaptée aux petits enfants. Il y a aussi des panneaux interactifs sur les arbres et les animaux. Finalement, vous arriverez à des écuries.

Ici, vous tournerez à droite sur la route en suivant toujours l'ANNEAU VERT. Après avoir dépassé la plupart des maisons du village, vous devrez emprunter le chemin balisé sur la gauche (2). Bientôt vous serez dans une petite gorge vraiment jolie avec des petits ponts traversant le ruisseau. C'est ici que vous croiserez la chaîne placée pour vous aider dans la promenade. Vers la fin de cette gorge, le chemin deviendra plus raide et vous atteindrez les cascades. Sachez que la quantité d'eau varie constamment selon la saison, mais la balade vaut le détour même lorsqu'il y en a très peu en raison de la jolie gorge.

Vous pouvez revenir par le même chemin ou, comme vous pouvez le voir sur la carte, suivre le POINT ROUGE puis le POINT JAUNE jusqu'aux écuries.

3)Pour la tour panoramique de la Tête de la Merelle, il est possible de s'y rendre facilement en voiture et de se garer quelque part le long du chemin qui y mène, il suffit de rechercher les directions sur Google. Mais si vous avez envie d'une petite promenade, vous pouvez emprunter le sentier ANNEAU VERT qui part de la route qui descend à droite du stade (non celui qui suit le ruisseau!). Il suffit de suivre le chemin jusqu'à la tour, c'est un peu raide mais rien d'extrême. La vue depuis la tour est à couper le souffle, mais sachez que les marches qui y montent sont très étroites et que seules 4 personnes peuvent y monter à la fois, il est donc définitivement préférable d'éviter les heures de pointe. Comme d'habitude, vous pouvez revenir sur votre chemin ou suivre les nombreux chemins que vous voyez sur la carte.

We have several walks here, they all start from the car park by the Stadium in Ramberchamp by the lake. One obvious walk is the tour of the lake: just follow the YELLOW DOT along the lake shore ( bear in mind the walk on the other side of the lake follows the main road and it's quite noisy), it's an easy walk of about an hour, but the ground can be rather rocky at times

1) Waterfall Saut de la Bourrique. This is a lovely walk not too difficult, but towards the end it gets a bit steep and there are chains to help you walk along some awkward/ narrower passages. It's recommended NOT to do this in winter!

You must take the GREEN RING path that begins just to the right of the stadium following the little stream . This first part is lovely , very flat and suitable for small children. There are also some interactive panels about the trees and the animals. Eventually you will reach some horse stables.

Here you will turn right along the road still following the GREEN RING. Once you have passed most of the houses in the village you will have to take the signed path on the left (2). Soon you will be in a small gorge, really pretty with little bridges crossing the stream. It's here that you will come across the chain to help you in the walk. Towards the end of this gorge the path will get steeper and you will reach the waterfalls. Be aware that the amount of water varies constantly according to the season, but the walk is worth doing  even when there's just very little because of the pretty gorge.

You can come back the same way or, as you can see from the map, follow the RED DOT and then the YELLOW DOT back to the stables

3)For the Viewing  tower Tête de la Merelle there is the easy option of going there by car and park somewhere along the path that takes you there, just google the directions. But if you fancy a bit of a walk you can take the GREEN RING  path that starts off  the road that comes down on the right of the stadium (not the path that follows the stream!). Just follow the path until you reach the tower, it's a bit steep but nothing extreme. The view from the tower is breathtaking but be aware that the steps that go up to it are very narrow and only 4 people can be on it at t one time so it's definitely better to avoid peak time. As usual you can get back  the way you came or you can follow the many paths you see on the map.
